All 100 billion original DOG were created at launch and distributed. No additional DOG can be minted.
What it is, what makes it different and how to get started. One place to begin, even if you are new to crypto.

Dog (Bitcoin), originally named DOG•GO•TO•THE•MOON, is one of the most recognizable community-driven meme coins built directly on Bitcoin through the Runes protocol.
$DOG is the ticker used for Dog (Bitcoin), a fungible token created with the Runes protocol. Its full original on-chain name is DOG•GO•TO•THE•MOON, a name that reflects the project's playful identity and strong community culture.
Like other meme coins, $DOG is built around recognizable imagery, humor and community participation. What sets DOG apart from many meme coins is its Bitcoin-native origin: it was issued directly on Bitcoin, rather than on another blockchain such as Ethereum or Solana.
$DOG combines meme-coin culture with Bitcoin's Runes token standard.
$DOG brings together a fixed supply, no presale, broad community distribution and the power of a Bitcoin-native identity. Built on Bitcoin and driven by its community, DOG has a bold ambition: lead the next chapter of meme coins.
The launch approach and principles championed by the DOG community.
All 100 billion original DOG were created at launch and distributed. No additional DOG can be minted.
100% of the original supply distributed free to eligible Runestone holders, with no separate team allocation.
A community principle: grow through participation, without paid influencers or paid launch promotion.
DOG was distributed to eligible holders rather than sold in a presale.
The community describes a launch with no special treatment for project insiders or large holders.
Community policy: no payments to exchanges for listings or to market makers.
$DOG emerged from the Runestone community led by Leonidas, creator of DOG, co-creator of Runestone and Bitcoin advocate. The community came first: Runestone had already brought together early Bitcoin collectors before DOG was distributed.
More than 112,000 eligible Bitcoin addresses received Runestone inscriptions.
DOG•GO•TO•THE•MOON was created at the Bitcoin halving as Rune #3.
A record of Runestone holdings at Bitcoin block 840,269 determined eligibility for the DOG distribution.
The token supply was distributed to eligible Runestone holders.
The simplified Dog (Bitcoin) brand gave the project a memorable identity that is easy to recognize across the wider crypto market.
See what share of DOG is held by the largest Bitcoin addresses and how much is held by the rest.
These totals overlap: the top 10 include the largest address, and the top 100 include the top 50. Do not add them together. The bar below separates the groups.
One address can hold DOG for many people, including exchange customers. These figures measure addresses, not individual owners.

This is a possibility, not a prediction. Fees and taxes are excluded. Selling all your coins at that price is not guaranteed.
Start with another coin’s all-time high price. See what DOG would be worth at that estimated total value.
Total market value (market cap) means the price of one coin multiplied by the number of coins in circulation. It does not mean that much cash was invested.
Record price × number of coins today (estimate)
The bars compare the total value of each coin.

Other meme coins’ past highs do not guarantee that DOG will reach similar prices, market values or returns. These are hypothetical comparisons, not predictions.

A community target, not a prediction. Progress can move forward or backward.
DOG, DOGE, SHIB, BONK, FLOKI and WIF share one race. Their positions move as their market caps change.
The main track starts at $10M in market cap. Each equal step represents 10× the total value. The orange fill follows DOG’s position on this logarithmic scale, not a percentage of the leader. Values below $10M sit at the start; actual market caps appear below.
A current snapshot, not a prediction: DOG moves ahead of a rival only when its market cap is higher. All six values can rise or fall.
From the smallest market cap to the largest. The order updates with the available prices.

Kraken and Xverse are two examples of where you can buy or swap DOG. Other providers also offer Dog (Bitcoin). Check the Bitcoin network before you confirm.
An exchange is a service where you buy and sell coins. You use a Kraken account, and Kraken keeps your coins until you withdraw them. Payment options depend on your location and account.
Buy DOG on KrakenA wallet is an app for keeping and using your coins. With Xverse, you can exchange BTC for DOG and manage the wallet yourself. Keep some BTC to pay network fees.
Buy / swap DOG with XverseNot financial advice. Buying DOG involves risk, including the loss of your entire investment. Fees, availability and eligibility vary by provider and location. No. Dog (Bitcoin) uses the Bitcoin network through Runes. Dogecoin uses its own network and the ticker DOGE. They have different supplies, prices and communities; buying one does not give you the other.
You own DOG, not BTC. Think of Bitcoin as the network DOG travels on. DOG and BTC are separate assets, and their prices can move differently. Using Bitcoin’s network does not guarantee DOG’s value.
Look for Dog (Bitcoin) on the Bitcoin network. Its original name is DOG•GO•TO•THE•MOON and its identifier is 840000:3. A matching ticker or logo alone is not enough. Before sending coins, confirm that the receiving platform supports this asset and network.
DOG’s initial supply was distributed free to eligible Runestone holders in April 2024, rather than sold in a presale. The announced launch had no reserved team allocation. This describes the original distribution; people have since been able to buy, sell and transfer DOG.
Different coins have different numbers of units. Market cap means price per coin multiplied by the number in circulation. It gives the race a common way to compare DOG with its rivals. It is not the amount of cash invested, and moving ahead today does not guarantee a future lead.
The $1 marker is a community goal, not a prediction. With an assumed supply of 100 billion DOG, that price would mean a total market value of $100 billion. Neither the calculator nor other meme coins’ past highs guarantees DOG will reach it.
DOG started with 100 billion coins. No additional DOG can be created under the original asset’s rules. Permanently destroyed coins can reduce the amount remaining, and providers may report circulating supply differently. The calculators use the supply shown by their market-data provider.
Each monthly edition uses a shared 30-day window. It adds likes, reposts, replies and quotes on eligible public posts about DOG on Bitcoin. Reviewed individuals need at least five eligible posts to rank. The top 25 are among the accounts analyzed, not all of X, and inclusion is not an endorsement.
No. DogonBitcoin.com is an independent community resource for DOG on Bitcoin. It brings together educational content, market tools and community projects. It does not represent DOG’s core contributors, exchanges, wallets or the people featured.
You can buy or swap Dog (Bitcoin) through several exchanges and swap services. Kraken is one example of buying through an exchange account; Xverse is one example of swapping through a wallet you control. The Buy section includes both, plus an ‘Other places to buy DOG’ list. Availability, payment methods and fees depend on your country and provider. Always check that you are selecting Dog (Bitcoin) on Bitcoin.
It depends on how you buy. On an exchange such as Kraken, you do not need BTC first when a supported cash payment or another trading pair is available. Swap services have different payment options; if you swap BTC for DOG in Xverse, you need BTC for the swap and network fees. Sending DOG from your own wallet normally requires a little BTC for Bitcoin network fees. When withdrawing from an exchange, check its withdrawal fee and how it is charged before confirming.
No. The wallet must specifically support DOG and Bitcoin Runes; receiving BTC alone does not prove that it does. Xverse is one compatible option. An exchange account is different: the platform holds the coins for you. With your own wallet, keep its recovery phrase private and never share it with this site.
